Next Victim

My girlfriend adored my hat and said that she wanted one as well, only significantly smaller. In fact, so small that it could fit on a head band. So I went to work immediately. She helped me pick out the fabrics and showed me a rough draft of what she had in mind. Then I took over from there.

I know you can't tell from the picture, but this hat is no taller than a soda can. Amazing, no?

Random plan: LET'S GO SEE "ALICE IN WONDERLAND" TONIGHT! That happened to be opening night in Huntington, so we went. So me in my Mad Hatter hat and my girlfriend in her Alice costume, we went to see the movie. So many people said we looked really good. Yeah, the work paid off. :)

The First Blog

I became interested in the Tim Burton's Mad Hatter long before the movie even came out. I mean obsessed. Pictures, videos, the works. I decided that it would be completely awesome to get together the Mad Hatter costume as a project. But just buying a costume from a store is not good enough for me. I wanted it to be as screen accurate as possible. So I started simple. The hat....

And I'm still working on it. I know it's not 100% like Johnny Depp's hat, but I like it. this fabric just screamed, "BUY ME!!!!!" So I did. It's just unique. In one light it's teal, in another it's gold, and in another it's blue. Curious, oh curious. And it hasn't stopped there....
